How do I support

Corona has changed the entire cultural sector. It is becoming increasingly difficult to finance projects. We have received funding from the City of Vienna (MA7), the Province of Lower Austria and the Province of Upper Austria, for which we are very grateful. But all three have very limited funding options. In order to continue to complete the project on a very small scale, but at least with a small paid team, we are trying this approach.

That's why we need your support. We also like the idea that people who want to see the film and are actually interested in it will make it possible at the same time.

We believe that the time has long since come to dedicate an entire film to MOTHERS where we don't talk ABOUT them but WITH them.
That's why we want to make a cinema documentary with a wide variety of mothers who talk about, reflect on and envision their motherhood.

It's easy to explain why we want to make this film.
We are two filmmakers and have also been parents for seven years.
It was very obvious to process this incredible change in life on film.
We have now met around 40 mums and there are actually many more mums who want to talk about motherhood.
The great willingness of many women to step in front of the camera motivated us immensely to make this film.

Your financial support enables us to make this film, which you can then watch.
Whether man/woman/flinta, whether with children or without, whether young or long retired. All of us have a mother in one form or another, and without mothers there is no society.
The film provides intimate insights into the thoughts of mothers and aims to give this considerable and important part of our society space to talk about motherhood.

At the same time, we live by the motto: everything comes back.

We let different mothers tell their stories and do this in one-to-one conversations.
From young to old, living in a partnership or single parents, from Austria or not, to two mothers, we want to create a colourful collage to create a certain panoramic view, which, however, does not claim to be complete.
The mothers' stories enter into dialogue with each other in the film and thus drive the film forward.
To frame the conversations visually and divide them into topics, we use various pictures showing family portraits, children, activities or other mothers.
The trailer gives an insight into the making of the film and consists of test shots taken so far. 

Our desired budget for "MÜTTER" would have been 200,000 euros in order to be able to employ a small team as an organisation over a longer period of time (director, camera, editing, sound, editing assistance, production management, etc.).
At the moment there are two of us responsible for everything and we are doing a large part of the project unpaid.
Thanks to the support of the small funding organisations, we currently have a budget of €55,000. This enables us to pay at least the necessary basic costs for the camera, hard drives, colour correction, sound mixing and sound design.
And for comparison:
300,000 - 500,000€ is a normal sum for the production of cinema documentaries in Austria.
